Tooth Wear

Our teeth go through a lot as we age, and a little wear and tear are completely natural, but at Brimington Dental Practice, we have a variety of ways to combat the process.

Our teeth can become worn down as we age, leaving them looking a little less than desirable and also impacting a variety of other oral issues, such as making it harder to eat. With advanced tooth wear, the teeth will appear darker and shorter, which can cause a patient to feel self-conscious about their smile and impact their overall sense of self.

Our range of treatments here at Brimington Dental Practice means we’re well able to treat and address teeth impacted by wear and tear. One of the main causes of advanced tooth wear is attrition – usually caused by grinding the teeth, an unbalanced bite, or issues with the back teeth and jaw. By treating these issues, such as through realigning the bite and/or treating bruxism, we can therefore lessen the impact of tooth wear.

When treating the aesthetic impact of tooth wear, we may recommend treatments such as crowns, veneers, and composite bonding – or a combination of several treatments, in order to achieve the most desirable results.
