Same Day Implants

At Brimington Dental Practice, our highly experienced team can, in some cases, replace a missing or damaged tooth with Same Day Implants.

Also often referred to as immediate implants, Same Day Implants can replace a missing or damaged tooth on the day of extraction/loss. Same Day Implants are most commonly required in emergency situations such as the sudden loss of a tooth or as the result of an injury or accident.

Not all emergency cases can be treated in this way, however, as there are certain criteria that need to be met in order for Same Day Implants to be safe and viable. They require healthy bone and gum support and can only be used on incisors, canines, and premolars. We’ll be able to determine your suitability for a Same Day Implant with a CBCT scan which we’ll then merge with the mouth so that we can create a plan for your guided implant surgery.

When the surgery has been completed, we’ll place a temporary crown so that you can continue to eat and speak easily and so your smile isn’t compromised. You’ll wear the temporary crown for up to six months until the implant has successfully and safely fused with the jawbone, at which point we’ll be able to place your permanent prosthetic crown/tooth.
