White spots on the tooth enamel can be annoying and unsightly for patients, as well as in some cases an early warning sign of decay. These white spots aren’t always caused by decay, however, in fact, most of the time they’re a result of tooth trauma/injury, fluorosis, or just simple genetics.

While many patients assume they might be able to rectify their white spots through teeth whitening treatments, the fact is these white spots can only be treated with ICON White Spot Treatment. This treatment uses a tooth-coloured resin that infiltrates the tooth via a special gel designed to open up the pores so that the resin can more effectively penetrate the white spot. Once this has happened, the resin mimics the healthy enamel surrounding it, so that the appearance of the white spot is reduced or even obscured completely.

This is a minimally-invasive treatment that can often be completed in just one appointment, leaving you able to return to your day with your new, more uniform-looking smile.
